This is a weird painting built on a piece I had done in 2015 of a face in a yellow landscape. I kept the face and the structure but the tone and space shifted to suggest something more of an underworld.

I was thing a lot about painters like Joachim Patinir when I painted the top part of the painting and the blue rock structures. Some paintings stand alone never to be repeated and this I think is one of those.
